What is shalom? In our prayers we describe God as the one who “makes peace” oseh shalom. God undertook the creative activity of making “rest” on the seventh day of creation and we ourselves copy that by actively pursuing "rest" on our shabbat. In the same way we must give meaning to the concept of shalom. Through traditional and contemporary texts, lively discussion, and other modalities, we will explore the concept of shalom to discover whether it is achievable for the individual.
The program starts at 10.30 CET and ends between 17.00 and 18.00 hrs.
Rabbi Avi Fertig and Alan Morinis will speak to us live. Rabbi Amy Eilberg's contribution is prerecorded.
We will meet in breakout sessions, explore the thoughts provided and share our learnings.
